2/16/01 The Start of Jumping  

Trot poles

I prefer this to the first picture - we're working on rounding up, but not so much when we're working on going over things

 

Willing to reach and stretch

I like that he's being careful with his back end

 

and what a nice back end it is...

Light in the front end and thinking about jumping - just how I'd want him at this stage

 

I know, almost laughable, but no need to push him his first time over. He did even hesitate to walk over this when I first set it up, but the last time around he merrily trotted over everything. I had all of these obstacles set on a large circle so he had to think more about balance on the approaches Also, thanks to Father for suggestions and help making the jumps
