Interior work
The inside is looking really clean. Now we have
to start thinking of how each room will be decorated.
That will dictate the stairs, railings and texture on the walls.

Well, the outside doesn't look any different. Just about everything happening is happening on the inside.

The arches are sheetrocked on the third floor.
The last wall on the third floor. The air conditioning system (ductless mini-split) should be hooked up by this weekend. We'll have air and the sheetrock can be finished in there.

Strange system that I hadn't heard of before. There's both an inside and outside unit. It's supposed to be quieter than a window unit and we didn't have to cut a large hole in the wall. The 2 copper lines, electric lines and drain line go through about a 3" hole through the walls down and out to the outside unit.
We'll probably end up covering up the bottom part to make it look like a storage area. We couldn't set the unit on the ground because there's a limit to the rise it can handle. By going to the third floor we were really pushing it's limits. We didn't want it on the roof because of noise and vibration.
The shelf is bolted to the concrete and the unit is bolted to the shelf.

The stairwell down from the 3rd floor. Now we have to decide what type of railings to install and how.
The stairs down to the 2nd floor. These are temporary so they can get all dirty with the sheetrock work. The final ones will extend out to the wall and have brackets to attach them to supports in the wall. That 3rd wall support should give a lot of strength.
The bottom of the stairs. We'll leave them open and either stain or paint them. So many decisions.
The second floor where I'll have my computer desk. We are planning for shelves along the back wall, and probably on any other wall that will have them. Not sure about how we'll keep the castle look on the inside. Right now I'm thinking textured walls with a plaster look. I need to start testing out some ideas.
