Long-lining Miaren

Adjusting the crupper. This was his first time to wear it.

Ground driving is pretty familiar to him.
I put a bit more stuff on him this time.

A treat for stopping and standing nicely.
Up and down the driveway.

We worked some at staying in the middle of the road.
One more treat.

He's comfortable all around the place.
Sometimes we did the drunken sailor.

Mostly he was nice and steady.
Then some trotting in the pasture.
Not bad on the circles.
The figure 8s worked one direction.
The second figure 8 got away from me.
Then he clamped his tail and felt the crupper...
He didn't get away, but I had to be careful about the basketball goal.
Down to a walk, but still suspicious.
Benefit of the doubt. Silly pony thinks he's never seen the lines before.
He doesn't hold a grudge.
No more figure 8s, but the trot was relaxed.

A little more animation when I dropped a line. But, he didn't take advantage of the situation.

No sign of soreness or pain in the back. I've been on him since my fall, but I think I need to do this to get my mind where it needs to be.
Happy to be allowed a little stretch.

We'll have to work our way back. I know for me the discipline needed for driving makes me feel safer with a horse.

I couldn't pass up posting this. She hung around during our session.
