He married Jacquetta of Luxembourg. (Additional notes for Jacquetta of Luxembourg⁽¹⁴³⁾) Sir Richard Woodville had been steward to John, Duke of Bedford, and, some time after that noble had died, married his widow Jacquetta.

Among the many marriages arranges for relatives of Elizabeth's was this one for her brother, John. As one chronicler put it: "Catherine, Duchess of Norfolk, a slip of a girl about eighty years old, was married to John Woodville, aged twenty years. A diabolical marriage."
