GEORGE I Louis Guelph¹¹ HANOVER (Ernest Augustus¹² Duke of BRUNSWICK-LUNEBURG) was born in Osnabruck, Brunswick, Germany 28 MAY 1660.⁽⁴⁶⁾ RESEARCH NOTES: Also: Leineschloss, Hanover Individual flags: KingGrBr. GEORGE died 11 JUN 1727 in Osnabruck, Brunswick, Germany, at 67 years of age.⁽⁴⁷⁾ RESEARCH NOTES: Suffered a cerebral hemorrhage as he was travelling by coach to Osnabruck; he was taken to that castle and died in the very room in which he had been born. His body was interred in Leineschloss Church, Hanover.⁽⁴⁸⁾ RESEARCH NOTES: Removed to Herrenhausen in 1957 following damage to tomb in WWII.

He married Sophia Dorothea of CELLE (ZELL) in Zell, Germany, 21 NOV 1682. Sophia was born in Zell, Germany 3 FEB 1666. Sophia was the daughter of George William Duke of BRUNSWICK-LUNEBURG-CELLE and Eleonore Desmiers d'OLBREUSE. Sophia died 3 NOV 1726 in Ahlden, Germany, at 60 years of age.⁽⁴⁹⁾ Her body was interred in Zell, Germany.

GEORGE I Louis Guelph HANOVER and Sophia Dorothea of CELLE (ZELL) had the following children:

+ 105 i. GEORGE II Augustus Guelph¹⁰ HANOVER was born 30 OCT 1683.

118 ii. Sophia Dorothea HANOVER was born in Hanover 16 MAR 1687. Sophia died 28 JUN 1757 in Monbijou Palace, Berlin, at 70 years of age. She married FREDERICK WILLIAM I in Berlin, 17 NOV 1706. (Additional notes for FREDERICK WILLIAM I⁽⁵⁰⁾) FREDERICK died 31 MAY 1740 in Berlin.
