He married Anne of Denmark in Uppsala, Sweden, 21 NOV 1589. Anne was born in Skanderborg Castle, Jutland, Denmark 14 OCT 1574. Anne was the daughter of Frederick II and Sophia. Anne died 2 MAR 1619 in Hampton Court, Bucks., England, at 44 years of age. Her body was interred in Westminster Abbey. After ruling as king in Scotland following the execution of his mother, Mary, James was made King of England as well in 1603 when Elizabeth died.

131 ii. Henry Frederick STUART, Prince of Wales was born in Stirling Castle 19 FEB 1594. Henry died 6 NOV 1612 in St. James' Palace, at 18 years of age.

+ 132 iv. CHARLES I STUART, King of Scotland and England was born in Dunfermline, Scotland 19 NOV 1600.

133 v. Robert STUART, Duke of KINTYRE was born in Dunfermline 16 JAN 1602. Robert died 27 MAY 1602 in Dunfermline, at less than one year of age.
