Richard died 30 DEC 1460 in Wakefield.⁽¹³⁵⁾ SOURCE NOTES: _The Lives of the Kings and Queens of England_; Antonia Fraser, ed.; p.140.RESEARCH NOTES: Killed on the battlefield, as his Yorkist forces were too few to defeat the Lancastrian force recruited by Margaret of Anjou from Scotland. As a grace note, Margaret allowed the late Duke's head to be displayed on the gates of York wearing a paper crown.

He married Cicely NEVILLE. Cicely is the daughter of Ralph NEVILLE and Joan BEAUFORT. Chief of the Yorkist faction in the Wars of the Roses. [insert image of white rose here]

Richard PLANTAGENET, Duke of YORK and Cicely NEVILLE had the following children:

217 i. Edmund¹⁹ PLANTAGENET, Earl of RUTLAND. Edmund died 1460.

218 ii. George PLANTAGENET, Duke of CLARENCE. George died JAN 1478 in Tower of London.⁽¹³⁶⁾ RESEARCH NOTES: Attainted and executed at the urging (of Parliament) by his brother, King Edward IV, who never trusted him after the final days of the Wars of the Roses. He married Isabella NEVILLE. Isabella was the daughter of Richard "The King-Maker" NEVILLE 14th Earl of WARW and Anne BEAUCHAMP of WARWICK.

Isabella died 1476.

219 iii. Elizabeth PLANTAGENET. Elizabeth died 1503. She married John de la POLE, Duke of SUFFOLK. John was the son of William de la POLE 4th Earl of SUFFOLK. John died 1491.

220 iv. Anne PLANTAGENET. She married twice. She married Henry. She married Thomas ST.LEDGER.

221 v. Margaret PLANTAGENET. Margaret died 1503. She married Charles "The Bold" Duke of BURGUNDY 1468. Charles died 1477.

222 vi. Ursula PLANTAGENET.

+ 192 vii. EDWARD IV PLANTAGENET, Earl of MARCH was born 28 APR 1442.

223 viii. RICHARD III PLANTAGENET, Duke of GLOUCESTER⁽¹³⁷⁾ was born in Fotheringay Castle 2 OCT 1452. RICHARD died 22 AUG 1485 in Bosworth Field, at 32 years of age.⁽¹³⁸⁾ RESEARCH NOTES: Killed at Battle of Bosworth Field; his bones were later disinterred and thrown into the River Soar. His body was interred in Grey Friars Abbey, Leicester;. He married Anne NEVILLE of WARWICK in Westminster, 12 JUL 1472.

Anne was born in Warwick Castle 11 JUN 1456. Anne was the daughter of Richard "The King-Maker" NEVILLE 14th Earl of WARW and Anne BEAUCHAMP of WARWICK. Anne died 16 MAR 1485 in Palace of Westminster, at 28 years of age. Her body was interred in Westminster Abbey. Lord High Protector from 9 APR 1483; King of England 1483-1485. Suspected in the murder of the two young Princes (Edward, 12, and Richard, 9) held in the residential part of the Tower of London in 1483.
