![]() P E R S O N A L I T Y 6 P![]() ENTP -- The InventorWhere INTPs are content to quietly design systems for the pure joy of creating generalized solutions to problems, the ENTP is more goal-directed. Knowledge is good, as long as it's good for something. Thus the ENTP is usually hard at work applying knowledge, building new devices and new systems to build new devices. This willingness to cast aside the old for the new makes the ENTP one of the least conventional of all the types. This can sometimes get ENTPs into trouble. Relying on their highly developed ingenuity works well in some situations, but where stability is indicated ENTPs will sometimes feel stifled. Even with close friends, ENTPs will occasionally feel the need to complicate matters just to have an opportunity to demonstrate their problem-solving skills. Other types can find this constant one-upmanship tiring. In an environment where innovation is useful and appreciated, though, the ENTP shines brightest, and can be among the most gregarious and good-humored of all the types. ![]() I. IntroductionII.
